Who do you accept transfers from?
We will accept transfers from most dealers, distributors, individuals.

I purchased a firearm and submitted a transfer request. Whats next?
Once the firearm has been received we must unpack, inspect, and log it into our books. You will be notified via phone/email when the firearm has been processed and is ready for you.

I want to purchase/ transfer a firearm. What do I need?
For Maryland non-regulated firearm transfers, you will need a valid state ID and to fill out a federal form 4473 for the background check. 
For Maryland regulated firearms, you will need a valid state ID, Maryland HQL card, and an account with MSP licensing portal to initiate the 77R form.  

My waiting is up. What do I need to pick up my Maryland regulated firearm?
Once your 77R has been Not Disapproved, you will need to bring your valid state ID and fill out a federal form 4473.
If you are picking up a handgun you will need a Maryland approved integrated mechanical safety device (Found here). You may bring your own or purchase one from us.

What long guns are legal to purchase/ transfer in Maryland?
Maryland State Police maintains a list of "BANNED" firearms. This list can be found on their website (Found here). 
Per Maryland law we cannot sell or transfer these firearms.

What handguns are legal to purchase/ transfer in Maryland?
Maryland State Police maintains a list of approved handguns. Handgun Roster (Found here
Per Maryland Law we can only sell or transfer handguns found on this list.

The gun I'm interested in is sold with magazines greater than 10 rounds.
In Maryland it is illegal to sell/acquire any detachable magazines over 10 rounds. 
For this reason, if any firearms are received with magazines larger then 10 rounds, 
RS Shooting Sports cannot include the magazines when transferring the customers firearm. 
However, we do offer magazine blocking for $10/magazine to limit the capacity to 10 rounds.

I shipped a firearm to RS Shooting Sports, but cannot pick it up for an extended period of time. What do I do?
Contact us as soon as possible. If we don't hear from you, transfers will be held for 45 days from the time of receipt unless previously approved by RS Shooting Sports staff. Any gun left after 45 days without contact will become property of RS Shooting Sports.

Can you ship a firearm for me?
Yes. All outbound transfers will incur a $35 transfer fee along with all applicable shipping costs. You will need to provide contact information for receiving FFL.

After looking at the firearm I transferred to RS Shooting Sports, I am not satisfied. What do I do?
In the event the customer is unsatisfied with their firearm, it is their right to refuse transfer. 
It is the responsibility of the customer to make contact with the seller and arrange return of the firearm, 
to include paying all shipping and handling fees. In these rare instances the customer must arrange the return within 45 days. After 45 days the firearm becomes property of RS Shooting Sports. A transfer fee may still be charged on a return at the discretion of RS Shooting Sports.

A family member passed away and I am inheriting firearms, can you help me with the transfer? What guns need transfers and to be registered? 
In these situations we recommend reaching out to us. Depending on the firearm type and your specific situation, different regulations and registrations could apply. 

I want to special order a firearm from you. How is this process handled?
Provide us with a model number of the firearm you are interested in. We will generate a quote for you. All special order firearms must be prepaid prior to ordering. 

What is your return policy?
All sales of firearms and ammunition are final.

How does a LEO purchase a regulated firearm for Official duties and take possession of it same day?
Law Enforcement Officers are able to purchase and take possession of Maryland Regulated firearms on the same day provided that they are purchasing the Regulated firearm for official duties and have a "Sales to Law Enforcement Certification Letter".
